PBD collaborated with Allsteel to establish a groundbreaking Experience Center in the vibrant Fulton Market district of Chicago, a rapidly expanding market for Allsteel and the HNI family of brands. Spanning the entire third floor of the new Sterling Bay building at 345 N. Morgan, the center showcases over 150 products from Allsteel, Gunlocke, HBF, HBF Textiles, Corral, Norman Copenhagen, and Zilenzio. The vision for the Experience Center revolves around a hospitality-centric approach, featuring interactive design and collaboration zones, an immersive learning space, and various hospitality hotspots throughout the entire floor. Emphasis was placed on creating functional and adaptable spaces that embody Allsteel + HNI’s dedication to fostering change and collaboration, serving as a blueprint for future workplace environments. This facility stands as Allsteel’s signature hub for client interactions, offering a central and convenient location for future collaborative engagements. It highlights the innovative design flexibility essential for agile and hybrid workforces. Throughout the design process, the team concentrated on crafting a space that celebrates and encourages collaboration—a place where clients and the design community can achieve more together. The partnership resulted in a design deeply mindful of its surroundings, with an original concept rooted in enhancing the user experience. By seamlessly combining inventive spatial utilization, thoughtful material selection, and functional design, the Allsteel Experience Center achieves a sense of understated luxury, providing effortless collaborative spaces and setting a new standard for workplace collaborative design.
