Corporate Concepts is a leading dealer of contract furnishings headquartered in Lombard, IL with an additional sales office in Chicago. When they began to outgrow their existing Chicago space they found a perfect building to relocate to – just across the street from the Merchandise Mart.
Corporate Concepts retained Partners by Design to provide architecture, planning, and design services for the relocation. Through collaboration with the Corporate Concepts team, Partners developed a workspace that was comfortable for the staff but formal enough to tour designers through. Iconic pieces were used in the design both as functional and showcase pieces. Knoll Womb Chairs and the Asymmetrical Bertoia Lounge chair are featured the in reception area and Saarinen Tulip stools are used at meeting tables. The walls and millwork are all DIRTT furniture systems.
Unique Design Solutions:
- The reception highlight is a reclaimed walnut wood table with a live-edge, serving as a space for lunchtime as well as client pitches.
- Benching workstations are utilized in the workspace for open communicative collaboration.
- The furniture is a stylish combination of classic mid-century modern Knoll pieces with touches of reclaimed wood pieces.
- Wall graphics in furniture silhouette patterns highlight Corporate Concepts’ specialty in a fun and playful way; while also adding a layer of privacy to the offices and conference rooms
