This Confidential Client is an impact platform committed to addressing contemporary societal and environmental challenges and driving support for change makers striving to shape a better future. The platform currently focuses on Oceans, Food & Agriculture, and Energy. With a “beginner’s” risk-taking mentality, the company seeks to create a culture that thrives on seeking unusual and innovative solutions to some of the most complex problems of our time. For the roof deck area the client sought a modern space that reflected the value of the company. Using native plants and abundant green areas, the result is a relaxing, mindful space that speaks the mission of growth and sustainability. @spark.chicago contibuted a creative graphic screen to add color and vibrancy to a shaded seating area.

The impressive new office space of AIT Worldwide Logistics was meticulously crafted by PBD. With a focus on “Efficient Modularity and the Rhythm it Creates,” inspired by the intricacies of shipping logistics, every aspect is professionalism and functionality. Notable accents like the airplane hangar-inspired wall underscore AIT’s expertise in logistics. The acoustic elements ensure optimal functionality while the “hosting bar” serves as a focal point for community engagement and relaxation, cultivating a vibrant workplace culture at AIT’s new headquarters.

This cutting-edge work lounge design reimagines traditional workspaces, offering individual cluster areas inspired by Chicago’s Riverwalk. Inspired by the “Jetty” on the Riverwalk and adorned with Chicago native wildflowers and grasses, integrated lights are scattered throughout the greenery to mimic fireflies, creating a magical ambiance. Walking through this space evokes the feeling of transitioning from the Riverwalk into a summer meadow. Shrouded seating groups mirror the enclaves of the river walk, while adjacent Creator Spaces like a barista bar and pizza kitchen add vibrancy and variety. The result is a dynamic and visually stimulating environment that seamlessly integrates nature, creativity, and functionality for a positive work experience. @pinterest

Beautiful new developments for @vizientinc ! Following the acquisition of partner company Kaufman Hall, additional space was required to accommodate more employees. Kaufman Hall has been relocated to an additional floor at the @post433chicago conveniently connected to Vizient via an elevator.

The recently unveiled facility boasts lofty 17-foot ceilings, expansive windows offering breathtaking eastern and southern vistas, and a unique split-level configuration connected by an elegant staircase. Drawing inspiration from Chicago's architectural heritage and the historic Old Post Office, the space harmoniously blends industrial design elements with refined art deco accents and branding by @spark.chicago

Upon arrival, guests encounter a striking floor-to-ceiling mail chute, accompanied by a sophisticated coffee bar and a generous lounge area ideal for collaborative gatherings. The layout features thoughtfully appointed hoteling offices, a state-of-the-art boardroom, and an ADA-compliant lift ensuring seamless accessibility to the library and versatile cafe space on the upper level.

This refined setting underscores Vizient's commitment to fostering innovation, connectivity, and community within the workplace.

We are so excited to present the new @pinterest Ch

We are so excited to present the new @pinterest Chicago office! This social media giant’s workplace draws inspiration from the essence of everything Chicago. PBD, in collaboration with the Pinterest Design team, created the floor plan, covering approximately 19,000 square feet, to offer a curated experience that pays homage to the city’s iconic attractions and culinary delights. Each section embodies the city’s spirit, from a Chicago Pizza Parlor-inspired micro kitchen to a Riverwalk-themed work lounge and All-Hands space. The Navy Pier-inspired Executive Business Center and a Chicago-style Hot Dog IT help desk add a touch of local charm. With conference room spaces dedicated to Union Station, Chicago sports venues, music venues, and a public art crafting creator space inspired by the MART, the project fosters creativity and community. It redefines the traditional office, emphasizing collaboration, events, and maker spaces, all driven by a commitment to discovery, and inspiration. See link in bio for more.

Celebrating over 100 years of the iconic Chicago f

Celebrating over 100 years of the iconic Chicago flag! Designed by Wallace Rice, the flag's white bands represent the city's North, West, and South sides, while the blue stripes symbolize Lake Michigan and the Chicago River. The four stars honor key events in our history: Fort Dearborn, the Great Chicago Fire, the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition, and the 1933-34 Century of Progress Exposition. Unique to Chicago, the six-pointed stars reflect our city's individuality. For this confidential tech client we worked with @spark.chicago to create an ode to the city’s flag made out of golf tees! After nearly two decades in the same space, @wilsondowgroup was ready for a new home. The newly reimagined office, designed by PBD, perfectly captures Wilson Dow’s vibrant culture and expertise in orchestrating large-scale events. The space reflects their theatrical heritage, eclectic feel, and dynamic team, radiating "livable sophistication" with innovative lighting, dark ceilings, and a bold yet muted color palette.

Key features include a cozy fireplace, a wine bar showcasing their extensive collection, and theater-inspired curtains that add drama while providing privacy. The design caters to various needs, from town hall events to intimate huddle rooms, with lounge-style conference rooms for comfort. A viewing room/green room and recording booth offer multipurpose functionality, while unique furniture selections for city inspired conference and private workspaces reflect their global influence.

This seamless collaboration with Partners by Design and project manager @cresachicago resulted in a workspace that truly aligns with Wilson Dow’s vision and operational needs, highlighting the power of thoughtful design. Check out the link in bio to learn more.
