Greater Chicago Food Depository | The Vision Behind the Mission

We’re proud to share our new video highlighting PBD’s transformative work with the Greater Chicago Food Depository, marking the completion of a ten year journey.

PBD developed a comprehensive masterplan that significantly expanded the Food Depository’s production capacity, enabling the creation of culturally appropriate meals daily for vulnerable communities. Our design approach also supported vital partnerships with 17 minority-owned local restaurants, reinforcing community ties and stimulating economic growth.

Today, thanks to PBD’s strategic planning and thoughtful design, the Food Depository facility produces meals, tailored to diverse dietary needs. The redesigned space enhances connections among staff, volunteers, and community members, deepening their shared commitment to fighting hunger across Chicago and Cook County.
